Overview

The Inverter Drive Supermarket is an Industrial Automation Distributor specialising in starters and speed controllers for electric motors - specifically AC Variable Frequency Inverter, DC Thyristor and Servo Drives as well as Soft Starters, motors and ancillary components.

We currently stock 9467^[1] products from a range of leading manufacturers and all are available for next working day delivery to both UK^[2] and most continental European^[3] destinations. We also provide an "Express" International delivery service and now have a Customer base covering 150 countries worldwide.

History

The company was founded by Colin Gibson in 2006. Colin brought with him more than 30 years Technical Engineering experience having previously worked for Brown Boveri (now ABB) from 1975-1981 and Shackleton System Drives (later Eurotherm Drives and Parker SSD Drives) from 1981-2006. Originally based at his home, the company experienced rapid growth and moved to dedicated premises in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire in March 2009.

In January 2012 the company moved to a new Industrial Unit approximately 3x the size of its previous facility.

The scope of supply covers:- AC Inverter Drive Controls, DC Thyristor Drive Controls, AC Motors, DC Motors, Gearboxes, Servo Drives, AC and DC Servo Motors, Servo Gear Heads, Low Inertia Disc Motors and Parvex Spare Parts, Programming Tools and Drive Ancillary items.

Our Customers

Our customers include: - Factories, OEMs, System Integrators, Panel Builders, Home users and other Distributors. All benefit from the information available. We advise on how drives fit with many applications and what advantages, strengths and weaknesses are available from using the various types of drive technology available.

Product Image Database

Almost all product images featured on the company's website are created in-house using our dedicated photography studio.

Rather than relying solely on manufacturer marketing material, we produce detailed image sets designed to give customers a far better understanding of each product before purchase. These image sets typically include multiple elevations to show mounting arrangements, close-up views of power and I/O terminals, and additional angles illustrating removable covers, accessories and key features.

Over the past 20 years, this exclusive image database has grown to include more than 12,000 high-resolution images and continues to expand as new products become available.

The database has become a valuable industry resource, and many additional product angles and detail shots have been added directly in response to customer feedback and technical enquiries. This approach also allows the company to maintain a consistent standard of high-quality technical imagery across its product range.

Because the image library is created and maintained entirely in-house, the company retains exclusive use of its original product photography.

Easy Start Guides

The company also produces a growing library of Easy Start Guides, created entirely in-house to help customers install, wire and commission products as quickly as possible.

Unlike standard manufacturer manuals, the guides are designed to provide clear, practical step-by-step instructions for common applications. Topics include power and control wiring, parameter configuration, sensorless vector setup, switch and pushbutton connections, and basic commissioning procedures.

All guide content, technical procedures, diagrams and graphics are created internally by the company's engineering team using hands-on product testing and real-world application experience.

The guides have become a valuable technical resource for customers and are continually expanded and updated as new products and applications become available.

These resources are intended to help customers make informed purchasing decisions and simplify installation and commissioning.
