The Yaskawa GA700 is a high-performance AC inverter drive for demanding industrial motor control applications. Designed for 400V three-phase systems, the GA700 range covers outputs up to 355kW and offers a flexible, dual-rated specification for Heavy Duty or Normal Duty operation. For precision control, the GA700 supports closed-loop vector control when fitted with an encoder feedback option card, delivering excellent stability across dynamic loads. With 200% starting torque and a wide 1500:1 speed range, it provides a true single-inverter solution for applications that require strong low-speed torque and smooth control over a broad operating range. Built for system integration and expansion, the GA700 can be fitted with up to three option cards, allowing customisation for feedback, communications and application requirements.

The GA700 is available from us suitable for a 400V Three phase mains supply (380-480Vac). Please ensure you select the GA700 to match your Voltage supply as well as the Voltage and Current rating of your three phase motor. The GA700 is dual rated; one Unit - 2 ratings, depending on the overload required. For example a 4kW/5.5kW GA700 is rated for 4kW with a 150% Overload (Heavy Duty) and 5.5kW with a 110% Overload (Normal duty)

Yaskawa GA700 Keypad Overview

The GA700 has a Multi-line LCD keypad which is removable and can be panel mounted if required. The Keypad has a real time clock function and the ability to store parameters ensuring parameters can be backed up and restored easily. An alternative Bluetooth Keypad is also available

Yaskawa GA700 Control Terminal details and default wiring diagram

All Control terminals are spring loaded for ease of use. The GA700 is fitted with extensive I/O which can be further expanded using an expansion option card. Unusually the GA700 has a -10V output voltage as well as a +10V enabling forward and reverse control using only a speed potentiometer.

The wiring diagram below gives the most basic wiring configuration which is preprogrammed as default. For assistance with more complicated requirements there is an 'Application Preset' function which sets predetermined parameter values for 7 different types of application

Yaskawa GA700 Installation guidance

All units are IP20 therefore the GA700 must be mounted in a suitable enclosure with adequate ventilation. Any dust must be non-conducting otherwise this will damage the unit

Yaskawa Options and Accessories

All GA700 units can be fitted with up to 3 Option Cards. For Closed Loop Vector Control an Encoder feedback option card is required.
